Sage Version 26 – what’s new for 50cloud Accounts in 2019?
The latest upgrade of Sage 50cloud Accounts – Version 26 – has been released with new and improved features to make your business accounting processes pain-free. Upgrade now to take advantage of the new features of Sage 50cloud version 26.
With the release of Version 25, Sage announced that it would be focusing on adding more value to its Sage 50cloud Accounts software and limiting the features on Sage 50 Accounts. This has continued in Version 26 and so the following features are only available to Sage 50cloud Accounts users.
Data Corruption Improvements
To limit the need for technical assistance, Sage has added improvements to its data recovery features. Sage 50cloud Accounts will analyse the level of corruption and recommend different paths to take based on the severity of the problem.
In cases where the corruption cannot be resolved, Sage has implemented a ‘Last Known Good’ (LKG) backup element whereby the most recent scheduled backup that is error free is flagged by the software.
Data Conversion Improvements
In previous versions some of the data conversion processes were duplicated adding extra processing time. In Sage 50cloud Version 26, the data conversion process is streamlined to make it much faster.
Sage has also introduced guards against process failure and clear progress updates, so users can rest assured that the data conversion process is running as it should.
Remove companies from Sage Drive
In older Sage 50 Accounts versions, technical assistance is required to take down companies from Sage Drive. Version 26 includes an easier self-serve process to achieve this without needing the help of a technical expert.
Making Tax Digital
To accommodate the biggest change to UK tax legislation in over 25 years, Sage introduced its Making Tax Digital module. A standard part of Sage 50cloud Accounts, the MTD module ensures that businesses trading over the VAT threshold of £85,000 are compliant with the change in rules. For more on Making Tax Digital read our post here, and if you require help preparing your business for MTD we’ve created a Making Tax Digital checklist.
CIS Reverse Charge
Although the CIS Domestic Reverse Charge has been delayed until October 2020, Sage version 26 has incorporated a new tax code (T21) for CIS registered businesses. The same tax code will be used for both sales and purchases where the CIS domestic reverse charge is applied.
